Reporting
Use ⋯ → Report on posts, events, comments, stories, profiles, and chats. Every report goes to a human queue.
Public content (posts, events, comments, stories) is auto-hidden pending review once enough independent reports come in. Reports are weighted by reporter history — a report from an established account with a track record of upheld reports counts more than one from a brand-new account or an account with a history of false reports — so in practice it takes several independent reporters to auto-hide something. This is deliberate: it stops a group from silencing a rival's event with a couple of taps. A single report never auto-hides anything, but it is always reviewed by a person. Profiles are never auto-hidden (queue only). Authors see an honest Under review state. Moderators approve or remove with a reason.
Messages
Direct messages and story replies are screened by the same word-list filter as public posts before they send. If a message is blocked, that block is recorded and — for harassment, hate, or advertising alcohol to under-21s — it advances the enforcement ladder below, exactly as a blocked public post would.
Enforcement
Automated weighted strikes apply when compose is blocked for harassment, hate, or underage alcohol advertising (weight 3 each). Ordinary nightlife language is allowed. Profanity blocks are logged but do not advance the ladder. Cumulative weight over a rolling 90 days: at 6 you become read-only for 7 days; at 12 (or egregious harassment/hate removed after review) the account is banned. We tell you the category that triggered a strike. App Review demo accounts are exempt from the automated ladder.
Appeal an active suspension or ban in the app via POST /moderation/appeal (a human reviews the queue). You can also email verification@thefrappapp.com.
SLA
We aim to review the report queue within 24 hours during the school term.
